July 2 - Fort Morgan

Today has been a pretty hectic day. It was very complicated getting the cyclists out of the city, and as a crew we were just a little rusty due to the two rest days this week. Alex our Crew Chief has returned, which is great, but it was an adjustment having him in charge again too.

Little view of the ride. No more mountains!

Even with all of the delays getting out of the city our cyclists crushed it, and made it to Fort Morgan right on time.

When we got to Fort Morgan we headed to the library/museum. We got a few minutes to check out the museum which was actually really cool!

We then put on our "Kids On The Block" puppet show for the kids at the library. It wasn't our strongest puppet show of the trip, but we all had a good time. While we were waiting to do the puppet show there was a guy showing the kids regional instruments, which was actually very interesting!

We had a little free time so we all headed to Sonic which was right next to our lodging and all got slushies!

We had dinner and a friendship visit at the Elks Lodge. I sat with some guys who are not in my regular group, it was cool to get to know some of the guys a little better! Also I had my first sloppy joe, the jury is still out on that, but I did eat it all.

Finally we got ice and water (which we do every night, but I leave it out because it is pretty boring). Today about half way through getting the ice it started storming, and it was just pouring rain. We are going to finish in the morning when it is a little dryer outside.
