July 17 - Rockford

Today we crossed into Illinois! We will only be here for the day as we are headed to Milwaukee, but will will be back in 3 days.

This is the closet thing to an Illinois sign that we had.

We crossed the Mississippi which was pretty neat

Today was crazy we had a lot of reroutes and blunders on the part of the crew. The cyclists were flying, but we were struggling to keep up with them.

My big error of the day was marking a turn onto 2nd street when I was supposed to be marking a turn onto 3rd street. It was embarrassing, but in the end it worked out.

Once in Rockford we headed to Laser Quest to play with our awesome sponsor! It was a blast to let off some steam and play some laser tag. I came in 7th out of 27 my round.

We headed to dinner after laser tag, which was at a Mexican restaurant. It has some strange options. I had a pulled pork taco which was pretty good!

We were supposed to have a friendship visit at a minor league baseball game, but it started pouring rain, so much so that we received a flash flood warning. It didn't last more than 40 minutes, but that was enough to rain out the game.

We ended up getting ice cream from culverts which was delicious, though we were all still really full from dinner.
