July 15 - Davenport

Today we had a nice 60 mile ride to the last city we will visit in Iowa, Davenport. The ride was nice, the air was actually cool when we woke up which was pretty great.

We had breakfast at the University of Iowa dining hall, and they had French toast sticks (which are my favorite)!

Upon ariving in Davenport we headed to this restaurant called the Machine Shop. We had fried chicken, potatoes, and the most amazing bread.

After lunch a few of us hopped on 1-80 for about 10 minutes to check out the store from American Pickers (the TV show). It was cool to see, but I was surprised by how many souvenirs they had, that was primarily what they sold, and a lot of the really cool stuff was for display only.

We went bowling with the local special Olympics, and they were really good. It is always fun to go bowling! I had my best game ever at 160, it was pretty exciting.

Mae then had free time so I tagged along with a group that was heading to Walmart. When we got back most of they guys had gone out on the town, so I opted to go to bed a little early so that I could get 8 whole hours of sleep!
