June 12 - Carson City

Today we traveled to the 8th smallest State Capital in the country, Carson City. I can already tell that we are getting close to the desert, it is dry, hot and nothing is green.

We had three friendship visits today, the first was at the children's museum where we put on our first Kids on the Block puppet show. It was really cool to see all of the stuff at there, and to feel like a little kid again.

Afterwards we went to the local Boys and Girls club for lunch, and we played with all of the kids. Dodgeball, tether ball, four square. It was tons of fun. We then put on our puppet show once again for the entire Boys and Girls club. We also had an awesome lunch there!

They had a library vending machine at the Boys and Girls Club!

Our final friendship visit was at Western Nevada College with The People First - Nevada Chapter. This was the most fun I've had at a friendship visit yet. We did karaoke, and danced. There was one girl who was super good at dancing to Michael Jackson songs, and she was Autistic. She was having an absolute blast performing for us. It really was so impressive!

Tomorrow we head to Fallon. Rumor has it there is nothing there. It will be interesting to experience rural Nevada for the next four days!

Also my mail came today! It was really exciting to get mail. I've never been far enough for a care package to be so important. When going home isn't an option they really do mean so much!
