7/1/15 - Camp Allen day 4

Today me and my crew spent the day continuing to work on the deck project. The first half of the day it rained like crazy and we had some close lightning, so all of the groups had to do all of their measuring and cutting in the tiny garage at the edge of the camp.

It made it pretty tough to get everything lined up, flushed, and level, but after we finally got the pieces out to the site in the afternoon we were able to tweak And trim until we made it work. Now we have a super sturdy deck frame readily to have the deck boards run in the morning.

Tonight was also the awards night for the campers. We started outside under the giant outdoor tent, but then the rain started coming sown so hard that everything was flooding and we had to bring it inside. In the thirty seconds it took to run from the tent to the mess hall every piece of my clothing was soaked. Then we had to run across the camp to clean up our sites and pick up our tools out of the rain. By the time we made it to the awards celebration, our whole group was soaked to the bone.

It was worth it though. Awards were super fun and even our BAM crew got a lot of applause and congratulations, (as well as a few free t-shirts). The campers loved getting awards, and afterwords we had a big dance where I got to dance with all the lovely ladies of my Favorite camp Allen cabin Seabee.

Unfortunately I couldn't spend long at the dance, as my crew decided to go out to finish the deck framing tonight before bed. But we'll still be up and at it early tomorrow so we can get done before the campers leave at 9AM. I already know it's gonna be hard to say goodbye to all the amazing people I've met here, but it's exciting to think that we get to go to a new camp and do this all again here in just a few short days.

Once again ill upload the pictures as soon as our photographer Gets them posted tomorrow, so intil then thanks for reading
