6/29/15 - Camp Allen Day 2

Our second day at camp was definitely busier than the first as we start into our projects for the week. We've begun working on leveling the path and maintaining the sensory garden that the 2014 BAM team built, pouring a concrete slab outside of one of the craft cabins, rebuilding a couple of the ramp decks in front of the community cabins, mounting a gate On the back access road to the camp, and constructing a 14'x8' deck about three feet up on the front of the master house overlooking the camp.

I was given the gate mounting project with another brother Kevin Lindgren. We we got up to the gate we realized that it was going to be much more work than we originally thought. We spent the whole work day blocking, measuring, and cartiage Bolting the very heavy gate to its post. Unfortunately we weren't able to finish since as we were tightening the tension cable, an eye bolt snapped out of the post and shot down the trail, taking the cable with it.
